In the temple people are often given personal revelation. The key word being “personal”, and not always applicable for everyone.

She ended up going to BYU for her MBA later, so that finally solved her quandary.
It would be so hard to be an GA, and have your least comment taken as gospel scripture. Of course, sometimes it’s fun to take it that way. On the way out of a meeting, James E. Faust passed by, looked at my infant daughter in her car seat and said, “What a beautiful child!” and I’ve always felt she received an apostolic blessing of cuteness that day.

During his exit interview, his mission president asked him what his plans were. He said he was going back to school and he was thinking about going on to dental school. “It doesn’t matter what you do,” the mission president said. “The second coming is so close, it doesn’t matter.” My friend is now comfortably retired from a career in dentistry.
