I've been thinking Brigham Young off and on for a little while--and Mormon's and others seemingly lack of respect for him, partly because I catch myself showing little respect for him. But he's a Prophet, even though he did say many "weird" things. He led most of my ancestors to my home state; he had an amazing life. That being said--that Big Pimpin' shirt is funny! I agree with #5. I think it was Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure which spurred the idea. Is it appropriate? I think your right that it would never fly with Hinckley or Joseph Smith. I think that the amount of general respect for BY is pretty low though, in and out of the Church (obviously more so out of the Church.) Quite often his memory is brought out as a caricature to demonstrate some weird point, by members and nonmembers alike. I think it feels kinda natural to many to poke fun at Brigham.
