There is a sister in our ward who 'can't stand to see the Lord's time wasted." Sometimes it bugs me, but I try to cut her some slack; she is a very efficient person in general, who I can't imagine does much meditation.

Naismith, I am right there with you on this one. Nothing drives me more nuts than to have a lovely testimony shared, then a gap of 30 seconds, after which some well-meaning soul gets up and says, "Well, if nobody else will speak, then I'll share my testimony of..."

Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God.

I love the silent moments between testimonies. I'd much rather have that than a line of children or a mom giving the update on her missionary son.

Your RS needs to take a field trip down the street to an unprogrammed Quaker meeting.

Silence between testimonies is to be savored. It is an opportunity to ponder on what has been said, and meditate on the atonement and what it means to us.

The rapid-fire of some LDS testimony meetings is actually pretty annoying to me.

Becausing believing in this religion is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and people leaving this religion and attacking me for staying have been some of the most painful things I have ever had to bear.

Oh, don't be sorry, kid. I wasn't offended, it's truly no big deal either way.

Why is that phrase painful for you? Understand now, there are almost as many Matts on the bloggernacle as there are Johns or Lisas :)

I'm sorry, that was a little blunt of me. I guess the words "I don't have a testimony anymore" are extremely painful to me. Perhaps the most painful words... Again I am sorry.

Matt, I thought it was funny--I guess I should have written it better to show that we were both laughing. As did the sisters in the room who could hear me. But then I'm kind of strange that way.

The Relief Society President, my neighbor, likes me to come to Relief Society because she likes my comments to lighten up the room.

Although she probably wouldn't have like to hear I hate visiting teaching. Although I do. Well, I hate being in charge of it. It's extremely negative and discouraging in nature. I was complaining to the bishop the other day and he said, "that sounds like my calling."

But I just thought that was a funny little conversation.

Annegb: you do too have a testimony. You just get ornery when people order you around.
