Okay, if that gathering means I have to move to Utah or Missouri, then gathering just isn’t going to work for me. In Missouri I would have no mountains to play in, and in Utah I would have weird groups like Standard of Liberty scaremongering in my neighborhood. |
Interesting – this is like some of the hell fire and brimstone sermons from other comtemporary LDS leaders. I am with Dan E – I am not moving to Utah nor Missouri – now if we gather in somewhere like San Diego or Hawaii, I am ready to gather. |
Good thing we’ve shifted and said that saints can gather to the Stakes of Zion and seek refuge. So I’m perfectly fine here in New York City. |
Devyn, Regarding San Diego, I’d like to think that when Brigham Young sent the Mormon Battallion down there, he was actually looking for an alternative gathering place in case Utah got too insular and nutty over the years. I think La Jolla would be perfect. |
I like Utah better than Missouri. I say we relocate the New Jerusalem such that it has good skiing and climbing. |
Will there be a mini-series? |
I love Orson Pratt. |
My favorite part about this one is that the Revelation proof text Pratt uses is the same one that early twentieth fundamentalists used when they abandoned their denominations. Another instance of Mormon hyperliteralizing. |
Kansas City is of the most underrated cities in our land. I heart MO. |
