We have BYU TV so we are watching Music and the Spoken Word first. The choir is in good form. Jessop truly took the choir to a higher level. I wonder if it can go higher? |
The great thing about conference in HD is you can see more of the weird faces the choir members are pulling. You get that sort of detail even in the wide angle shots. I be some of the members are horrified at the prospect of closeups in HD. I just saw so far into a lady’s mouth that her uvula was clearly visible. |

I’m enjoying the constant messages - Oaks, and now Christofferson - about constructive and loving engagement with folks who disagree with Mormon doctrine. Oaks quotes Ephesians 4 to great effect, where Paul taught that instead of allowing ourselves to be tossed about by disputation we should speak “truth in love.” Christofferson’s story about being “touched by his concern for me” instead of being offended when a minister expressed fear for his soul was also great stuff. |

My wife and I really enjoyed Boyd K. Packer’s talk. He spoke very well. His talk was a wonderful lesson on the role/responsibility of apostleship. It’s interesting to hear someone speak from memory about a personal experience (like that) with Spencer W. Kimball. |
