I know there are those who wonder why I would do such things as stand up against that which I have been raised in. My dear wife recognized the danger long before I did. She voluntarily took off her long underwear (garmnents) years before I was forced to because she recognized the potential evil that still exists today. Other churches have safety mechanisms that protect its people from evil acts. There are no checks and balances in the Mormon church. In 1857 the Mormons murdered 120 men, women, and children, and no Mormon today realizes the same mentality exist for such to occur again. Im sure, because of thier history, the leaders have forever been unwilling to allow themselves to be governed only by Christ-like ways. If a leader asks, it is encumbant on a member to follow in lemminglike fashion. Pray, pay, and obey. If something gets in the way of this, it is steamrolled and made to look like the bad-guy, when in effect, it is the cancer in the system itself. I have allowed myself to be sacrificed so that the possibility of more atrocities does not occur. If I could have stopped the Mountain Meadows Massacre to occur, I would have, and my going completely against the power-brokers at the very pinacle of Mormondom is my feeble attempt at turning a mirror on them so they can see themselves for what they are. The odds of them seeing themselves in this light is slim to none, but I am willing to pay the price for that possibility. I am tired of seeing the pattern manifest itself over and over again, where they portray thier seeming enemies as bad. They have done this with me, just as they did it, and still do it, in the annals of history, portraying in propogandish fashion, the Missourians as the bad and evil ones, yet they themselves are the lily white saints. This is complete lie and perpetuates jihad or war, making themselves greater than, and the others, as less than. A Mormon reading this will deny it it vehimently, but deep down they know of its truthfulness if they are not ignorant. I seek peace, but will forever stand up against what I see as wrong. It is interesting how they demand compliance, and have no interest in transparancy, but hide behind their curtains of protection, and see themselves and thier system as immune from scrutiny. The heaven on earth they seek will not be found with this mentality, of this I am sure. I have seen too much to go along with an ultimately loosing system. I support all the good they have, but I am opposed to them weilding devilish power, which easily occurs when religious power and political power merge.

I have watched the debates over a period of time. I dont think that the Clergy have any right to tell us how to vote.
As an outsider I have obsreved that republicans tend to be hostile and angry people, who shout you down if you dont agree with them. They throw President Benson at you all day long. They are armed with a handful of clich'es that have been drunmmed into them. They think everyone is communist that does nto vote with them.

Thank goodness for Barrack Obama and his refreshing style. The Republicans are so jealous and desperate thay are spreading lies and half truths, trying to discredit him. Why? becase they are without any ideas of their own.

If being an LDS member meant having to be a conservative, I would take my chances and go my own way, because the Jesus I know and love, is 180deg opposed to republican teachings on many things. And my friend is enough for me.

From personal experience, I can tell you that jackasses like this guy exist on both sides of the aisle. I'm not sure this is a Republican/Democrat issue.

James E Faust was a democrat.

Most Republicans in Utah are simply democrats that want to get elected.

Tim

<blockquote cite="nasamondele,

You said that just now? And what prophet would they be going against in what situation? Wait, I actually don’t want to know.

You missed the point. I was making a snide remark about the reason why there is such a disparity between the two parties in Utah. So many Mormons have tied their religious beliefs to a political party as to never accept the points of the other party. In their minds, what the prophet says is closely tied to the Republican party, so in their minds if they go Democrat, they are going against the prophet. But you’re a Utahn Republican. You can’t seem to see this."></blockquote>

Boy, old Bramble is a real gem. Poor girl is called into the "no tip zone" (east bench) and moreover to Bramble's house. Poor Curt. I think I need to try to have some compassion. We should all hold compassion for these guys, help save their souls by getting them out of office now! Had we done that with Leavitte, he would have less blood on his garments for the dirty work he brought about to get his "high political" appointment rewarded him.

I know restaurant workers at one upscale place in Provo who all loath and hate when Bramble shows up. They all nearly have to draw straws to ensure they are not the one to have to serve his table. Cheap tip perhaps, but abusive, insolent behavior.

It doesn't help that a cousin who interned at the State Capital says he's detested by the other interns there who see his pompous, outrageous manner.

That aside, does not make him a criminal, but if Utahan's wanted a true conservative, they'd out that guy so fast for his Establishment, David Rockefeller supporting treason against the United States. Bramble and his ilk love to please their puppet masters, and grovel at the chance for political high appointment should it come their way---as it did for Mickey Leavitte after he treasonously turned over the private information on every Utah Citizen to a national database, which was reported as the "M.A.T.R.I.X."

Sad state of affairs. And of course, here is the David Rockefeller quotation taken from his own book published in 2002 entitled "Memoirs" from page 405:

"For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure -- one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."

And all of that power that Rockefeller holds, is amplified as stooges lusting for power, gain and glory of the world in local states across the country stand lock step in fulfilling a Rockefeller, anti-American Agenda.

nasamomdele,

Except that things are going to actually happen around Global Climate Change (one way or the other) while the abortion debate will remain at its current stalemate despite the rhetoric (and votes) wasted on it.

I'm extremely pro-life. I'm also extremely pro-choice.

I'm pretty sure, being aged, I've shared this before. Oh well, once in a Relief Society lesson, a teacher started attacking Democrats and I finally raised my hand and defended them. The two Democrats in the room started to cry and thanked me after. True story. Sad, huh?

You would probably guess that I disagree, much in the same way some people don't think "Global Climate Change" is simply a 'distraction.'

#29 arj,

Do you mean that because there is no campaigning to uphold/change laws on abortion that it should not be considered an issue? And I'm sure there's one or two "single-issue morons" out htere that affiliate themselves with Republicans because of some personal, life-changing experience with abortion.

I suggest that there is no basis to question the validity of hanging on to one issue as opposed to many, or none (some Obama supporters, I have to admit).
