I love it all. I love the night before and the anticipation of what the next day will bring. My kids are old enough that we found our groove for Christmas Eve, we will actually be able to do something Christ centered and have them retain it. YEA! I love Christmas morning. Growing up our tradition was to watch each person open their gift before we could open ours. We started with the youngest and with six kids it took at least 2 hours to open presents from family (each other) and presents from Santa, but it was so magical… to this day I still wish for something magical to happen, but alas, shopping for my own gifts means I know what I am getting…whatever happened to Santa for grown-ups? |
Christmas Day, because I get to see both my family and my wife’s family. |
Christmas Day, because it means I’ve finished putting together all the gifts with 2,000+ different pieces that require my entire tool set to assemble (trust me, it wasn’t my idea to buy these things). It seems to me that rebuilding a transmission is less cumbersome than constructing most of these things. I suppose that Christ’s atonement does cover the sins of those who market such toys, but one can hope… |
This year Christmas Day, because I got to talk to my missionary son. Usually Christmas Eve is the most enjoyable because I am not tired yet. |
