Don’t forget to nominate your favorite bloggers and commenters here at Mormon Mentality! |
Despite the controversy they cause, I love the Niblets. Not only do they allow me to see who gets outraged over the perceived size of their blogs each year, but they also serve the entertaining purpose of allowing me to easily locate a number of excellent posts that I’ve overlooked. |
I agree, John, I’m excited to catch up on everything I’ve missed. |
I’m now into the best spiritual post part (I skipped the historical ones, for now, I find history boring, but maybe not when I get there, it’s like cleaning the oven, saving it for last, but then it’s not that bad)–I skipped the doctrinal one too. I’ll go back later, on sunday afternoon, for keeping the sabbath day holy. At first I thought the blog world had gone crazy because seriously so blessed just seemed like a lot of nonsense and I skipped it and I love My Religious Blog and then in a fit of discipline, I made myself go back and read more carefully. I started to smile a little bit then I even chuckled and now I wonder if it’s Banner of Heaven stuff. Don’t be insulted, whoever you are seriouslysoblessed, I don’t get burgess, either and I would never nominate them for best poetry which I find totally un-understandable, and I’m thinking it’s because I’m an older generation. I think Julie’s post about what her kids said was the funniest, it made me laugh and it’s hard to make me laugh. It has to be really funny. I’m quite African-American that way. I don’t fake laugh. I miss Millennial Star. That used to be the first (and if I only had time for one, only) blog I went to every day. I’m glad to see them nominated. And I’m really glad to see Segullah and ZD nominated. Those are really great blogs. Really. Despite the fact that SHE OWES ME $10!!!, Ardis’ blog is pretty good, too. It galls me to admit it, but still…. Plus, she left us before she even started us and I’m still pissed off about that. I mean, for Times & Seasons, too! Geez, Louise. David. I can’t believe you nominated me for best commenter. I barely qualify as a blogger anymore, let alone a commenter. My glory days are over. For best commenter, I would nominate gst because he always cracks me up and I’m a humor slut (like I said, real humor, African-American that way) then: Bookslinger, because he always nails it….and brings a voice of reason and I almost always agree with him. Stephen (Ethesis) the same, but I don’t see him commenting very much anymore. Blogger whose posts I always look forward to: ESO My most memorable comment, in the vein you introduced would have to be DKL’s profound “You’re a shitbag” tribute to his detracters. I wish I could read Andrew Ainsworth’s “dark night of the soul.” Any chance it will be posted? I will comment more when I catch up going down the list. Although, I think Mormon Mentality is the most current and eclectic. I suppose our problem is we all get sick of posting at the same time and hence, pauses, like you see today. |
I would like to nominate the way Mormon Matters set up the nominations because it’s a really good way to catch up on good stuff. You guys, My Religious blog is so funny. I just read something that Burgess wrote to answer me. Is Burgess a made up person and is his poetry not really on-line? I had similar problems with Seriously So Blessed. |
I should say, “Kaimi always cracks me up….except when he says something so profound it almost makes me cry.” |
