Well, this might make some of you throw up, but Pachelbel’s Canon in D calms my soul. I’d never heard it until I walked into a store in a mall in Washington, DC and they were playing it. I was immediately entranced. It was after James had died and I’d started listening to classical music. I bought that tape and wore it out the next year. I think I’ve read every book there is about near death experiences and in one of them, the writer said Pachelbel’s Canon is the nearest she could come to describing the music she heard in the spirit world. My sisters have always been my strength. I feel sorry for people who don’t have that relationship. I suppose people with mothers experience that kind of security. And of course, I take Bill for granted. He’s my port in a storm. The bane of my existence, but there’ve been times, when I realize my good fortune. |
