It’s more of an Easter hymn, but I love “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”. (We’re already well into Spring here in Texas when Easter rolls around.) |
Earth with her ten thousand flowers |
In Our Lovely Deseret. It helps me avoid the temptations of tea and tobacco in the Spring. |
For the Beauty of the Earth |
Put Your Shoulder To The Wheel. Has nothing to do with spring, but its one of the few hymns with a rocking beat (if played properly) it isn’t sung very often anymore. To make it work for spring, just envision yard work and “Put Your Shoulder” in it. |
Not my favorite hymn, but great for spring: God is Love (#87) 1. Earth, with her ten thousand flow’rs, 2. Sounds among the vales and hills, 3. All the hopes that sweetly start |
I looked at the title post and came down to write “God is Love” but you beat me to it. I love that song. I also like “Our Savior’s Love.” They seem very spring-like to me. |
Oh, and For the Beauty of the Earth rocks, too. When I was the Relief Society chorister, we sang those songs every month. |
1. queuno – I really like that song – it is one of the few that seems even a slight bit evangelical from our hymnbook – it is spring here when we sing it 2. Bill – that is a good choice as well, although we don’t sing it near enough 3. Dan Ellsworth – now that is one of the lamest songs still in the hymnbook 4. ESO – agreed that is a top one for me too! 5. living in zion – I like that one too – not exactly Spring but certainly upbeat which we don’t have enough of 6. Paul S. two votes for that one… 7. annegb – you are like me – too many favorite hymns! |
