I’ll do you one better, I’ve made this recipe every year for Thanksgiving and it not only never disappoints it is so easy with the slow cooker: Darrell’s Cream Cheese Corn 1 – 32 ounce Package Frozen Super Sweet White Corn (Western Family) (I sometimes add another 16 oz) Put corn in the crock pot then add the water and sugar. Put the Cream Cheese and Butter on top of the Corn, cover the pot, turn on low and let sit until the Butter melts away and the Cream Cheese is very soft. Stir until thoroughly combined. Let it continue to cook for 2-3 more hours on low, stirring occasionally until thick. |
Why would you want to do that to perfectly good corn? |
MCQ, because corn does not naturally contain cheese and cream. Duh. |
My point exactly. Duh. |
I am sitting here stunned and amazed because I’ve been asking about how to make homemade creamed corn since we got home from San Antonio! That sounds soooo good. Thank you! I always make a jello with pineapple, apples, nuts and whole berry cranberry sauce. Bill and I are the only onew who like it but it says Thanksgiving to mw. My kids insist on the stupid green bean casserole. This year I’m 1. Brining the turkey in apple juice and kosher salt overnight. And 2. Basting it with a mixture of white wine and melted butter. I read about it in Reader’s Digest. I’ve invites a ton of people but left out the lady who Bill home taught for years who fell for him and was so delighted when he invited for Thanksgiving a few years ago. She was pretty disappointed to find me there (thought we were still separated.). Awkward ever since between us. |
I love creamed anything. Bring it on, baby. |
You need to rethink that. Seriously, that’s not good for you at all. |
Your Incredible Cream Corn recipe sounds so delicious, we’ll have to try it, not that it’s time to retire our traditional green bean casserole with crispy onions baked on top. |
I brined our turkey last year and I’m going to do it again–with a little less salt. Really a good way to go. |
